How secure is my storage and what insurance do I get?

All items are stored in our secure, climate-controlled facilities with 24/7 CCTV monitoring and restricted access. Every item includes £100 insurance coverage as standard. Your belongings are safe with us throughout the entire summer period.

What is the storage duration?

All our storage packages include up to 16 weeks of secure storage. This covers the entire summer break period from June through September, giving you plenty of time to enjoy your break and prepare for your return to university in autumn.

What if my plans change?

We understand that plans can change. If your circumstances change and you need to adjust your collection or delivery dates, please contact us as soon as possible at sales@vixstudentstorage.co.uk or call 0800 654 6495. We'll do our best to accommodate your needs.

Is there a booking fee?

No! There are no hidden fees. Our pricing is completely transparent. You pay one fixed price that includes free collection, free delivery, free boxes (for Medium and Large packages), free tape and bubble wrap, secure storage for up to 16 weeks, and £100 insurance coverage per item. What you see is what you pay.

Collection, Delivery & Logistics

When will you collect and deliver my items?

We offer flexible collection times during the summer break period. You can select your preferred date and time slot when booking. Delivery is scheduled for September/October when you return to university. We'll contact you closer to the time to arrange a convenient delivery slot. Someone must be present for both collection and delivery.

What areas do you cover?

How do I book storage?

Booking is simple and takes just a few minutes. Visit our website, select your collection and delivery dates, choose your storage package (Medium Box, Large Box, or Other Items), and complete the booking. You'll receive a confirmation email with all the details including your collection time slot and what to expect.

Can I store items in my own suitcase or box?

Yes! We offer an 'Other Items' storage option for students who prefer to use their own suitcases or boxes. Your container must be fully zipped/locked and in good condition (max 55cm x 55cm x 55cm, 25kg). This gives you flexibility to store items your way while still enjoying our secure, climate-controlled storage facility.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is calculated based on your location and the items in your order. You will always know the shipping price before you purchase.

What items can and can't I store?

You can store most personal belongings including clothes, books, textbooks, electronics, bedding, winter coats, shoes, kitchen items, sports equipment, and furniture. We cannot store perishable items, food, hazardous materials, illegal substances, or anything that could damage other items. If you're using your own suitcase, it must be fully zipped and locked - no loose plastic bags. Boxes must be strong and double-walled.

Vix Student Storage provides hassle-free storage solutions specifically for students. We operate a simple 4-step summer cycle: (1) We drop off empty boxes with free tape and bubble wrap to your accommodation, (2) You pack your belongings and we collect them, (3) We store everything securely in our climate-controlled facility for up to 16 weeks, (4) We deliver everything back to your new address in September/October. Everything is included in one fixed price.
