There's a particular chaos to the final few days of term at the University of Kent's Canterbury campus. The academic work is done — essays submitted, exams finished, dissertations handed in — but the logistical work is just beginning. And in the rush and celebration of the end of year, certain important things have a habit of slipping through the cracks.

1. Booking Student Storage Before It's Too Late

4. Cleaning Your Room to Checkout Standard
Most University of Kent accommodation requires rooms to be left in a clean and tidy condition. Failure to do so can result in cleaning charges deducted from any refundable amounts or added to your account.

6. Updating Your Address with Key Institutions
Your student address is connected to far more accounts than you think. Before you leave Canterbury for summer, update your address (or redirect your mail) with:

If you're in Parkwood flats or houses with shared utilities, the end of term requires financial coordination with your flatmates. Shared electricity, broadband, and water bills need to be properly closed or transferred. Split any final costs before people scatter across the country — chasing housemates for £15 from 300 miles away is universally miserable.
If you're the lead name on any utility account, ensure it's properly closed in your name. A bill continuing to accumulate in your name over summer, at a property you've vacated, creates problems that are disproportionately time-consuming to fix.
8. Confirming Your September Address for Storage Delivery
